I am sort of excited. I am helping our apartments start a neighborhood watch program. We have so much trouble in and around our apartments that I have gone out and talked to my neighbors, and called our local law enforcement officials. They are sending all the information and flyers for me to get my neighbors involved in a meeting with the community outreach officers to get a program underway for us. I think it will go a long way to making this a better place to live. After all, most of us are already snooping, watching and gossiping.

Neighborhood watch
I am sort of excited. I am helping our apartments start a neighborhood watch program. Good for you!! If everyone took responsibility to be good neighbors, looking out for each other, I think the world would be a better place. Kudos to your community spirit & desire to make your surroundings better & safer.
When I was in High School, we had a massive illegal scavanger hunt. On the list was a neighborhood watch sign, we sawed it off at the base,post and all, we were the only two to bring one back. Other items included a caution wet floor sign from the mall,a 44dd bra,roadkill,and the 10 foot high anniversaty sign from the front lawn of the school. Those were the days.

Good on you for initiating the neighbourhood watch. May all the bad guys retreat to some gutter and feed on maggots (or vice versa).

Ah the good ole neighborhood watch. We used to have a really good one in our neighborhood until the head guy moved on. He would get weekly reports from the local police dept. about crime in our surrounding area and email them to us. He also sent us lists of child molsters who had moved into the area within so many miles. Hmmm, maybe I'm happy he is gone now. That stuff was scary!
being watchful, caring but not obsessively or nitpickingly so, is one of the most important bases of building a community...
if anything, if a community functioned in a proper fashion, all sorts of nonsence would be spared...
