Good Night Moon

Occasionally, we do get a bit of peace and quiet. Of course, even then I get a little nervous. Today, Indy took a header into the coffee table. He used the gator to climb and stand up, then the little monster LET GO. He stood solo for about 30 seconds. Then he went down... Head first. There was a big CRACK, a momentary silence, then a WAIL unlike any previous wail. He has a mild bruise and seems ok, but every nap he has taken today made me think concussion.

Worrying is a mothers job, I guess.

Now he may have physical concussions, they heal leaving no trace, sometimes. The ones affecting his feelings are the ones we worry about when they get older. And you are right, we never stop worrying. Here via Michele's this morning.
What a cute little angel!

Ah yes, I remember that two second gap before the bloodcurdling scream. That's when they try to muster up enough air to pull your soul out from your toes, sucking all air from the universe and then letting go with that scream.

I remember it well.

And my kids are still alive - miraculously.

The parenting gig ain't easy. Good thing they're so resilient and pretty much remember very little from childhood.
