If it wasn't for bad luck...

The other day I ranted about Fisher Price. Sure, they used to be THE premier kids stuff maker. So, I called them and explained how bad they sucked to their customer service people. We will be getting some replacement parts, some refunds, and some gift certificates from them.

So, today I was listening to Dean Martin on the brand new Bose system that we purchased less than ten days ago. It stopped playing, for no reason. The power just shut off on it. So, I thought maybe it is the fuse box... Wait! The rest of the stuff plugged in there, and on that fuse have power. Maybe it is the "plug in - outlet thingy" it is plugged in to... Nope, other stuff works when plugged into that outlet. So I thought maybe one of the wires came loose in the back... Nope all in and secure. It just wont turn on. It has no power to it. It has my Rat Pack Christmas CD in it!

So, now I think that I am just not lucky. Maybe Fisher Price doesn't suck, because I KNOW Bose doesn't suck however it appears that MY Bose does. So, maybe it isn't that Fisher Prices products are shoddy, maybe its just that I AM THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD WHO GETS CRAPPY PRODUCTS FROM EVERYONE!!!

My experience in the retail world has been total suckage lately. I've had the absolute worst luck with customer service and purchase in general! Ugggh..

I think things just suck in general now. Nothing is made well anymore. It is all made fast with cheap parts and cheap labour. Things aren't supposed to last 25 years anymore because they want you buying a new one in 5.

Sorry you are having such bad luck lately. Call Bose and see if they have a simple explanation of what has happened. If not, mail it back and get a new one. Bose is usually a good product.

You must be related to my husband's family... I thought they just joked about it, but after all these years I know there is something about that family when they purchase things. Now I am the one signing the check whenever we make a major purchase in our family!! Just to make sure those appliances will work ok.
But I am very sorry you are having problems with quality brand names. It really shouldn't happen.

You are snakebit when it comes to products. I have the ability to pick THE SLOWEST line no matter where I go...the bank, the store.
Think of it as a gift and it won't hurt so much.

It seems to me that nothing is made like it used to be..(I know that's what "OLD" people say...but it's true. EVERYTHING is made now, to be thrown away when it fails...But, 10 days???? I don't think it's you; I think it's shoddy cheap workmsnship...all based in the bottom line: GREED! There,I've said it. And I feel better!

Oh no you're NOT the only one! Our family has a little black cloud over it, too!

If there's a bad VHS or DVD in a bunch, we'll get THAT ONE. If there's a medical statistic for something bad, WE'RE THAT ONE. If there's something that's gonna go wrong with a product, IT'LL BE US that has the problem.

Trust me. We're either related or have been in a former life. It's the exact same way for us.

LOL no, you aren't the only one who buy faulty products sometimes. I always save my receipts until they disinegrate for this very reason. Right now it's more like a streak of blah I'd say.
But, being that you got somewhere with Fisher Price, I'd definately call BOSE & let them know as I bet you'd get not only a new system, but something else for free too. Their reputation of excellence in this field is too important to them to get a bad review. If they don't provide good customer service, I'd dedicate a blog entry to it. (and also if they do!)

I never believe a product is going to work, a toy is going to have all its parts, a shipping date will hold true and I don't think if much matters if you spend a ton or a little...makes me crazy!

Sorry about your Bose...what a disappointment 8-(

I have discovered that when you contact the company themselves lik eyou did ,you get MUCH better results then taking it back to the store.
