My two sons

These are the worlds greatest two sons a mom could have. I love them both very very much. They are both sort of cute, and kind of special, and just absolutely the best. I am definitely blessed.
(edit: bump)

Old Navy!

Took me about 10 shots to get one I really liked.
It looks to me like he is showing "touchdown".
My mom mentioned a yard sale (which usually isn't my thing) that had over 500 baby outfits, so I had to go look! We found an old navy shirt, an old navy hat, a pair of sandals that looks like his daddys, and the frog. So, I guess I'm glad we went!

Chef Daddy

Cat Fish and Hush Puppies! Daddy is cooking up a great dinner. Chris has gotten me somewhat addicted to his personal brand of southern cooking. Indiana doesn't know what he is missing! Indiana will be able to start solid foods next month. He already gets the occasional bit of applesauce, banana, and pear baby foods, fudge-sickles, otter pops and his favorite... Dill pickles. But, nothing compares to his dads catfish!

Frog

Indiana got a new friend!
It is a giant blue stuffed frog.
He likes to talk to it and chew on it
and play with it, and cuddle up with it.

Brian

A couple of weeks ago we visited with Brian and Becky. Brian has a really long goatee and Indiana just loved it. He wrapped his fist in Brian's facial hair and fell asleep. I just finally got a copy of the picture this morning.

Survival of the loudest!

Indiana survived 5 hours with his grandma donkey! Chris and I went to grand rhonde casino for dinner with David and his wife. We had a wonderful dinner, and David's wife was a nice dinner companion. We both liked her. Indiana stayed home with Chris's mom. When we got home they were both still in one piece and they didn't appear to have burned the house down or killed each other, which were our real fears (hehe).

Stingray!

Indiana loves his stuffed stingray. Daddy and him play with it often.

Bright Light!

It is awfully bright outside. Its way better inside! (The life size image behind Indiana's head on the picture taken inside is from the television.)

It is still in the nineties and I am so glad we aren't sweltering anymore.

Brrrrr

It is 80 + outside! But with the new air conditioning, its so cool in here, Indiana has to wear clothes! He is wearing a nice warm sleeper that Jessica bought him. (She bought one for Indiana and one for her soon to be born son that match, so we can get pictures.) Indiana has been wearing nothing but a diaper lately, and still been too hot. Now, with the AC in his window, and a fan in the hallway relaying the cool air, its nice in here. I actually had to put socks on myself because my feet got cold. I LOVE AIR CONDITIONING!

Air Conditioning

Thank goodness! Chris finally bought and installed our air conditioner!! Gary came over and helped him. They spent a couple hours measuring and drilling brackets into the back of the building. Our apartment manager told us that we could not block the breezeway. Therefore, the AC could only go in a back window. SO, for now Indiana has been temporarily removed from his nursery until we get things cooled off. Then, hopefully he will be able to sleep in there in a "nightie" at night. My mom is at the beach for a few days, but when she gets back she has a piece of Plexiglas for us to put in the space above the air conditioner. I didn't want to wait, so we used a piece of the carton it came in as a temporary block. It is pretty nice. Chris picked it out at Costco. It even has a remote control.

Smilin'

This picture was taken in my moms back garden. Indiana loves playing in the cool shady grass.

O'Reily kisses

Kortney's puppy (born one month before Indy) is a loving golden retriever. They shared kisses back and forth, and Indiana enjoyed getting his toes licked by O'reily. O'reily got his name because he was born on st patricks day.

Nate Misti and Indiana

Nate was thrilled to see us. He crashed his SUV, so we went to visit him, since he cant come to visit us for the 3 weeks it will take to fix it.

Picnic on the Patio

Today, we went up to Portland to visit Nate, Marie and Kortney. Marie bbq-ed hot dogs and hamburgers and we all sat around on the porch and had a nice visit. We discovered that Indiana really likes pickles. He likes to suck on them as the rest of us eat. Anyways, they had not seen Indiana yet, so he charmed them (well he screamed but they loved him anyways).

Family Portrait part two

OK, so my mom scanned in our portrait and put it up on her web site,
and earlier i had said if you want to see it, go to her site.
BUT... its getting pretty far down on her site already because she has some beautiful other pictures so i swiped it from her site, and am posting it here.
Some of you will be recieving copies of the picture in the mail, as well.

Sleepers

Indiana and his dad cuddled up and sleeping for the night. Some nights Indiana just doesn't want/like to sleep in his crib and needs a little cuddling, which his dad happily provides; Be it in bed or in the recliner.

Play-Pen

We re-arranged the apartment last weekend and now there is room for his pen! He is getting used to it, although i think he knows he isnt as mobile as he was when we just had a blanket on the floor. I feel a lot safer leaving the room for a few minutes now. it still makes him scream if he is left too long alone, though.

Heat Wave

As the heat continues, we really aren't doing much except trying to stay cool. Our family portraits came back from olan mills today, so we went and picked them up, then went to my moms where we sat in front of her air conditioner. (I will get a copy of our family portrait scanned in and posted sometime next week.) Chris had trouble getting Indiana and i to leave the air conditioned goodness!! Indiana fell asleep in the cool and seemed to sleep better than he had in days. We decided to buy an air conditioner this coming week. It is against the rules to put an air conditioner in the front windows, but several other apartments have done so, so we, too will break the rules. It is too hot not to. According to the news, we should have the hottest day of the year to date tomorrow, and it is only going to get hotter. Upper 90s, with hundreds happening on the east side of the mountains. Tomorrow is the perfect beach day. (80s on the coast) Enough with the weather report. Indiana is doing fine, as are Chris and I. Last word from Dakota is that he, too, is doing great and enjoying his summer. We enjoy visiting his website daily. We even are using the Charlie and the chocolate factory picture from his blog as our desktop picture. So, no news, everyone is fine.

Nothing new

Nothing new today, it was in the 90s and just to hot for us to be interesting today. It was so hot and he was so tired from it that he did sleep thru the night for the first time last night. Anyways, here is a look back at one of his first days. We are still as proud now as we were there, just a little more tired.

Sink Bath

It was so hot today that instead of waiting for his usual bath with his dad in the tub, we filled up the sink with cool water, put a cloth diaper down to cushion it, and threw him in! He liked the cool water, but the small space irritated him a bit. He likes to kick and splash and play and coo while he is in the bath. But, the cool water did make him happy for a time, and that's all we can ask.

Asleep

I think this is the only time Indiana is quiet! Usually he is screaming or talking; babbling or crying. This is when i like him best. Sure his smiles and giggles are great, but they almost invariably give way to hollers of outrage. Seems, sometimes, like Indiana is just an unhappy baby. But, Dakota was a screamer too. So, i guess its all normal.

BoohBah

So many of you have asked us who and or what the boohbahs are... i added a link to their show on the sidebar. You can find it and other great kids shows links at www.pbskids.org

Something to entertain me!

The swing entertains Indiana while i cruise Dakota's blog, and my mom's blog. The links are in the side bar (Duck-ota sprints and Faira). Dakota's is all about racing sprints, and who he likes. He has taken all the pictures himself, and honestly he is doing a GREAT job with it. There are links on his site to some other great local racing sites. My mom is doing a neat series of pictures with flowers and animals that she sees on her walks daily. There are some beautiful pictures that make excellent desktop wallpaper. You can just right click on one of the pictures and select "set as background".

McGarry

Today should have been my grandfathers birthday. He was a crazy wonderful guy. Even as a teenager i was proud to be around him (when any other adult was embarassing!). Cigarettes kill.

Indiana plays until he is exhausted!

Indiana plays on his gym mat and in his saucer and with his boohbah until he is just too tired to keep going and falls asleep where he lies. he has even fallen asleep sitting up.

BoohBah!

surrounded by BoohBahs! Posted by Picasa
We finally got them all... he has the larger dancing Jumbah (not shown) as well. These toys when the tummy is squeezed either fart, meow, or say boohbah. BoohBah comes on pbs at 730 am and its his favorite show. He will sit quietly on my lap or on the floor and stare entranced at the bright colors.

Sleepy Baby!

Tired Boy! Posted by Picasa
We went and got family photos done today (next time we get pictures i am hoping to get them of Indiana and Dakota together instead of just Chris myself and Indiana). At any rate, he was wiped out by the process and slept in his car seat in his room for a couple hours. We got him Mickey mouse glasses that match his Mickey mouse shirt. They fit well, and he likes them. He seems to have sensitive eyes like me.

New Toy!

New Toy! Posted by Picasa
Chris's aunt Audrey sent the baby a bit of money... We added a bit to it and this is the result! He loves it! It bounces it turns it wobbles it has toys on it... This thing does it all. Plus, it keeps him standing and interacting even when I'm not in the room! He is learning to use it fast...Thank you Aunt Audrey!

Long weekend

Chris finally went back to work after a long four day weekend. It was a busy holiday. On the fourth we actually drove all the way to LaPine and back. It was well worth it though. My brother played guitar at the local fair there. We drove almost 4 hours one way and honest it would have been worth it to drive 4 more to see him, he was that good! I can't wait until i can introduce him to Darin. I think he is good enough to make Darin cry and he is only 16! What makes it impressive to me is that we would listen to him even if he wasn't a relative! Anyways, Chris Indiana the donkey and i had a great time with the music and visiting. Michael and Weston were great at entertaining Indiana, and he reacted wonderfully to them. I think he likes them already! Wanda was great to spend time with/ Chris and Dad barbecued and then fixed the van together. We all left saddened at knowing it will be a few months before we spend more time together like that. I only wish Dakota would have gone with us. I think he would have had a great time with my brothers, and the girls that were visiting (the girls were wanda's nieces!).

Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July!
It is early early on the morning of the Fourth. We are all getting ready for the big trip to LaPine to see my brother play guitar in the park (i think its a fair or something). Anyways, it seems like it takes 2 hours to pack for the kid for an all day trip. I am hoping that we will be able to transfer Indiana into the car seat without waking him. Then, hopefully, the van will keep him asleep for a while. It is about 3 /12 or 4 hours driving one way (HAHA Pray for us, Chris is going to drive highway 20!) and its supposed to be hot hot hot when we get there. Oh well. Should have lots of pictures to post tonight/tomorrow.

Daddy takes pictures too!

Sting-Ray on the bum! Posted by Picasa
besides his boohbahs the sting ray is his favorite toy. Running the stingray up and down him while making "chewing" or "eating" noises (as if the sting ray was nibbling on him) is one sure fire way to get smiles out of Indiana when he is in his crib. Chris was giving me a much needed bath tub break and just had to play the game!

Crawling with the Donkey

Indiana, Stephen, and Donkey Posted by Picasa
Indiana has started to master the art of scooting. He crawls with his legs only, and kind of rubs his head along the ground. Its really rather cute. Here he is "crawling" to his grandma donkey while Stephen (the neighbor boy from our old apartment) watches.

Weight Check!

We went in for a weight check today. Because it was not a normally scheduled appointment (i was concerned about his development and thought we should have him seen) we saw a different doctor than usual. We saw Dr. Lon McQuillon. Indiana weighed in at 14.4 oz and 24 inches. He is 90% in weight and 70% in height. (which means he weighs more than 90% of the other children his age, and is taller than 70% of them) The doctor also told us that Indiana is very advanced in his developmental skills and all his eating habits are normal, and basically he is doing great!! The doctor also confirmed that those little white projections in his bottom jaw that we foolishly assumed were teeth (at least the advice nurse on the phone said we were foolish to think that at this age they might be) ... Are indeed TEETH!! that explains the drool. Also, glad to announce Indiana's left eye is officially cleared up. His tear duct has opened on its own. No more wiping of the green goo! It has been clear a week now!!
